Eco Toilets

With campfires, hot showers, springwater on tap and composting toilets, what else could you wish for?!  We don't believe in cramming our guests in like sardines, it's important to have room to relax, play, explore and enjoy the outdoors, so we only have a limited number of pitches available in our field, with eco-friendly facilities designed to melt into the woodland background. Old-fashioned farm camping at its best - no electric lighting, no hook-ups, no gravel pitches, just a friendly field with a few added comforts - remember to bring your marshmallows and a torch! Don't worry if the campsite is full, we're unlikely to run out of space, but it's a good place to be if you like to be close to the facilities and within easy reach of your car.

Many of our other popular camping spots are within easy reach of the campsite facilities, and the ones that are further away have their own portable facilities nearby.

Our Farm

Our land is packed with history and character, from Iron Age cairns and medieval hut platforms on our heather hillsides to the fairytale stream in our bottom field and the tranquility of our much loved riverside camping spot. Everyone who stays here develops their own personal favourite spot, and the best way to find yours is really just to come and wonder about, but there are some tried and tested star locations which we'll be happy to point you to.

Tymawr has been our family farm since 1884, and we think its the best place on earth. We really enjoy sharing our home and love of the area with friends and strangers alike, and with farm history trails, orienteering challenges, streams to paddle in (and dams to be built), woodlands to make dens in, beautiful scenery, amazing wildlife, rare flora, access to open countryside, mountain bike trails and a whole farm to camp on, we hope you'll love it just as much as we do.

The farm is a traditional Welsh hillfarm, with a few hundred sheep grazing just over a square mile of meadows, fields and moorland. We're very proud of our flock of Welsh Hill Speckled Face sheep, the breed has been here longer than we have, and the sheep currently grazing our fields are the direct descendants of those farmed by Mari and Benjamin in the 1880s. Tymawr is now farmed by Delyth and Dafydd, mother and son who are the 3rd and 4th generations here respectively. We hold a strong belief in what we do, and by farming in a traditional, environmentally and ecologically sensitive manner, we produce sustainable, low input wool and food from marginal land whilst maintaining the best possible welfare standards, in fact, we think the sheep like it here as much as us!
